Research and development projects
POI and 3D Format carry out research and development projects financed by their own and EU funds.
1. VolumeMonit automated precision volumetric measurement system
The aim of the project is to develop an automated volumetric measurement system VolumeMonit based on the technique of low-bulk photogrammetry using non-metric images. This system will be used by 3D Format company, which is the Leader of this project, to provide services in cyclic volumetric measurements on the Polish market. The project will be carried out within a consortium, which in addition to the Leader - 3D Format sp.j., includes the Silesian University of Technology and the AGH University of Science and Technology in Cracow.
The main critical assumptions of the project are to achieve 1% calculation accuracy at the end of the project, 2-day measurement frequency and significant acceleration of the entire process of calculation the volume of heaps and mounds (up to max. 4h), thanks to the introduction of automation of photo acquisition and calculation part. This project assumes, among others, development of a precise method of volume calculation based on low-density photogrammetry and algorithms for photogrammetry and optimizing the efficiency and duration of UAV flight time for volumetric measurements.

Celem projektu jest opracowanie systemu pomiarowego opartego na fotogrametrii niskopułapowej, zapewniającego szybkie, dokładne i częste dostarczanie wyników o objętościach materiałów sypkich.
Efektem projektu będzie wdrożenie do działalności firmy 3D Format usługi zautomatyzowanych pomiarów objętościowych.
